Web Writing & Editing

Brand Summaries to Health Library Information

I’ve written most everything for webpages. From brand summaries to health library information, I use web writing standards and plain language practices to craft webpage content to fit user needs.

The audiences I have written for are many:

  • Consumers
  • Patients
  • Students
  • Referring physicians
  • Researchers

Each audience requires a slightly different approach, as any writer can tell you. Often times content is the hardest commodity to create. It requires someone who can generate basic descriptive text and then diversify from there.

Examples

When Should You See a Urogynecologist?

Audience: Women 40+ seeing health complications with reproductive organs
Rewritten/updated 2020

Another piece similar to When Is it Time to See a Cardiologist? These pieces target specific points on the user journey or decision making process. Users, in this case potential patients, can do incredible amounts of research with Dr. Google, but when it comes to choosing their health care professional, they want to know exactly what they should look for.

This is the purpose of this piece and others like it—to give users the information they need to make an informed decision about their health care. These pieces are also specific to content strategy for a particular services line.

When Is it Time to See a Cardiologist?

Audience: Health care patients
rewritten/updated August 2019

A custom content piece written for University of Utah Health, this piece gets more page visits than the entire heart health services website. By creating content helpful to a specific audience, we are able to add value to our sites beyond condition, procedure, or treatment pages.
